Beer Tasting; Weight Loss Challenge; AND IT'S FRIDAY! Southern Drawl wins the Beer Taste!

Player of the Day: Michael Qualls

JP from Rotolos and his wife Jennifer are celebrating Rotolo's Anniversary with us by taste testing beer!

Beer #1
Stella Artois' "Cidre-Ab Inbev": Crisp and refreshing Belgian cider made with hand-picked apples. Gold and clear with a fizzy, diminishing head and active carbonation. Aroma of fresh apples and light champagne. Similar flavor, sweet and tart with a crisp, carbonated feel and a refreshing finish.
JP: People usually come in and start out with this beer, then move up to a heavier.

Lane: If the fans of the home team rush the floor, then they should forfeit.
Fletch: What do y'all think?
EH: No way man.
JP: Depends on if you're the home team or not!

Emily Bryant signing at Louisiana College for soccer:
Fletch: What's that been like?
Emily: I started as a freshman, so I really had no idea that I was going to be experiencing this today.
Fletch: So when did you actually start playing?
Emily: I started playing as a freshman.
EH: Holy moly.
Fletch: OH! I thought you meant you started as a freshman, like you started on varsity.
Fletch: How did you deal with the LC soccer coach being at your last game to watch you play?
Emily: I just tuned him out, like I tune out my parents.

Beer #2
Angry Orchard's "Hard Cider Crisp Apple": Gluten free, tastes like apple juice at first but leaves a nice refreshing beer taste.
JP: It's a great breakfast beer!

Dr. TV: If Bruce Pearl weren't sitting their getting out of purgatory, people wouldn't be talking about him
Fletch: Right, and he still appeared at a national conference wearing orange to talk about Tennessee. And unlike Petrino, he has a personality that gravitates people toward him.

Beer #3
Rogue's "Hazenut Brown Nectar": One of the 2 highest rated beers on tap at Rotolos. 2011 and 2012 winner of the Gold Medial in the Specialty Beer Category!

Ed Hardy: 220 lbs

 Cupcake: 242.5 lbs

Fletch: 248.5 lbs

Beer #4
Great Raft Brewery's "Southern Drawl: Pale Lager": A hop forward lager with complex, citrusy aromas derived from German hops and wheat phenols. We use our house German lager strain to provide a fresh backdrop for this perfect session lager. Mildly traditional...Wildly drinkable. Malts: German Pilsen, German Wheat Hops: Tettnanger, Perle Yeast: House Lager ABV: % 5.2% Availability: Year-Around.

Beer #5
Red River Brewing's "Hay Ryed": Wheat Beer with a hint of rye in the spiciness.

Patrick: I just want to throw out a random thing about the I-Bowl, I was listening to a local Christian Station that plays music nationally, and the Duck Commander Independence Bowl was the topic for the day. Literally everyone is talking about this.

Beer #6
Saint Arnold's Bishop's Barrel: Imperial pumpkin stout. Ale brewed with molasses, pumpkin and spices and aged in rum barrels. Brewed in Houston.

Darren Sharper facing two counts of aggravated rape in NOLA, adding on to the charges he's facing in Los Angeles for drugging and raping two women.

Ralph: Yale's infielder, Green Campbell, Byrd Alum, coming back to his roots against LSU this weekend.

Beer #7
West Coast IPA's "India Pale Ale": This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.
